As the Trump Administration focused on the record-setting numbers of families and children flooding the southern border, Immigration and Customs Enforcement this year arrested significantly fewer criminal illegal aliens, the agency’s interim head said Thursday.

Trump Administration Announces Asylum Deal with Honduras

The Trump Adminis -tration will sign an asylum agreement with Honduras, a senior Homeland Security Department official said Wednesday. The deal follows similar cooperative pacts struck with Guatemala in July and with El Salvador last week.

"France cannot host everyone if it wants to host people well," Macron told Europe 1 in an interview from the United Nations in New York where he is attending the annual General Assembly.

Study: Law Enforcement Refusals of ICE 'Detainers' Up 37% over 5 Years

Law enforcement agencies in California and Florida have seen large spikes in the number of immigration “detainer” orders by the Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agency, even as the overall number of refusals to honor those requests is increasing, according to the Transactional Records Access Clearinghouse (TRAC).

Trump Administration Reaches Asylum Deal with El Salvador

The Trump Administration has brokered an asylum deal with El Salvador, according to a senior administration official and another person familiar with it, as reported by Politico. The agreement — known as a “safe third country” pact — would require El Salvador to accept asylum seekers who pass through its territory en route to the United States.

Indian Firm Settles Visa-Fraud Allegations

Mu Sigma, an Indian data analytics firm based in Chicago, agreed to pay $2.5 million to settle allegations that it committed visa fraud and induced aliens to enter and remain in the U.S. A government investigation revealed the firm had illegally circumvented H-1B visa regulations by actively employing about 400 B1 (business visitor) visa holders under contract in the U.S.

NumbersUSA Education & Research Foundation provides a civil forum for Americans of all political and ethnic backgrounds to focus on a single issue, the numerical level of U.S. immigration. We educate opinion leaders, policymakers and the public on immigration legislation, policies and their consequences. We favor reductions in immigration numbers toward traditional levels that would allow present and future generations of Americans to enjoy a stabilizing U.S. population and a high degree of individual liberty, mobility, environmental quality, worker fairness and fiscal responsibility.

Those who need to refer to NumbersUSA with a short, descriptive modifier should call it an “immigration-reduction organization.”
