Taking the Initiative: Our Programs
This is how we achieve sensible policy: together. NumbersUSA has launched a series of initiatives to build bridges, leverage the tools of democracy, and educate the public and policy makers on the diverse impacts of federal immigration policy. These are our programs.
Federal Initiative
Our Federal Initiative’s mission is to convince a majority of Members of the House and 60 Senators to support NumbersUSA’s legislative priorities. The Constitution gives plenary power over immigration policy to the Congress of the United States. Our team works in and out of Capitol Hill to engage Members of Congress and empower NumbersUSA’s millions of activists to make their voices heard in Washington.
State & Local Initiative
The state & local initiative focuses on E-Verify, limiting tuition benefits, drivers licenses, and taxing remittances. Working with local stakeholders, our team works in and out of state legislatures to bring sensible immigration policy to the states.
Hiring Line Initiative
We want Americans to work. The Hiring Line Initiative empowers voters to achieve an economically just immigration policy. A properly regulated system will restore opportunities for left-behind Americans. We provide civic engagement through education and easy-to-use tools for legislative outreach among grassroots activists and concerned organizational leaders: research, factsheets, live events, speaking engagements, and alliance building.
Sustainability Initiative
The Sustainability Initiative empowers voters to achieve an immigration policy that can last. Numbersusa is the nation’s premiere organization researching the role immigration policy has in driving U.S. Population growth, and the effect of that growth on the quality of life for the nation’s people, plants and animals. We provide civic engagement through education and easy-to-use tools for legislative outreach among grassroots activists and concerned organizational leaders: research, factsheets, live events, speaking engagements, and alliance building.
Alliances Initiative
As a non-partisan group, NumbersUSA recognizes that reforming America’s immigration system so that it operates for the benefit of the American people requires many groups working together toward a shared goal. The Alliance Initiative builds bridges to allies across the political spectrum. NumbersUSA works with many organizations. Some, like us, specialize only in improving U.S. immigration policy. Most work on many issues, but our collaboration with these groups is limited only to immigration.
International Initiative
While the purpose of any American policy, including immigration, is to serve American interests, immigration challenges are global. The International Initiative engages with organizations in other nations to seek common ground for those working to implement immigration policies in the interest of their individual nations.
