In the U.K., Committee Admits Immigration Keeps Britons Out of Work

For every four non-European Union migrants in the U.K., one Briton is displaced from the labor market, according to the Migration Advisory Committee. The report, which is the first of its kind to look at the impact of immigration in the U.K., found that immigration has kept resident workers out of jobs.

Senator Chuck Grassley (R-Iowa) said that a draft copy of a report he requested from the Department of Homeland Security Inspector General's office confirmed the accounts he heard from whistleblowers about the pressure placed on Immigration Service Officers to quickly approve visas even in the cases of fraud and eligibility.

Federal Immigration Enforcement Program will be made Mandatory by 2013 for Every State

Secure Communities, an immigration enforcement program, will be made mandatory for all states by 2013, according to a recently released memo. The three year old program consists of an information-sharing partnership between the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) and the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI). The program helps to identify criminal aliens without imposing any new or additional requirements on state and local law enforcement.

Report Reveals Senior Officials Pressuring Officers to Rush Immigrant Visas- Despite Fraud

Top Officials within U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services are pressuring rank-and-file officers to quickly approve immigrants' visa applications, sometimes against the officers' will, according to a report by the Office of the Inspector General.

The report details the immense pressure immigration service officers are under to rubber-stamp visa applications, sometimes while overlooking concerns about fraud, eligibility or security.

NumbersUSA Education & Research Foundation provides a civil forum for Americans of all political and ethnic backgrounds to focus on a single issue, the numerical level of U.S. immigration. We educate opinion leaders, policymakers and the public on immigration legislation, policies and their consequences. We favor reductions in immigration numbers toward traditional levels that would allow present and future generations of Americans to enjoy a stabilizing U.S. population and a high degree of individual liberty, mobility, environmental quality, worker fairness and fiscal responsibility.

Those who need to refer to NumbersUSA with a short, descriptive modifier should call it an “immigration-reduction organization.”
