The nation's ability to survive the Covid-19 pandemic does not depend on continuing the DACA amnesty, despite a major attempt to suggest otherwise in the elite East Coast media this week.

As always, the numbers in the debate have to be put in context.

Stop raiding poor countries of doctors & nurses that they need in the pandemic

Does anything reveal more about the ugly strain of American arrogance and entitlement than calls by immigration enthusiasts to use the pandemic as an excuse to further raid the health professionals of underdeveloped countries?

Many nations around the world already have a large percentage of their doctors working in U.S. hospitals instead of helping the woefully underserved populations of their homelands. As a matter of international ethics, let's stop using our immigration system to wave around wads of cash to deny the world's poor their doctors and nurses.

Two of the seven GOP Senate candidates in Alabama's Primary this week ran on immigration-reduction platforms after having earned career A+ NumbersUSA grades for their work in Congress.

Together, the two won 58% of the votes on Tuesday (31.7% by Jeff Sessions and 24.9% by Bradley Byrne). Sessions and former Auburn football coach Tommy Tuberville (who won 33.4%) will compete in a March 31 runoff election.

It is hard to distinguish oneself among so many Presidential aspirants when everybody is rushing in the same direction. Beto O'Rourke tried but couldn't attract enough funding, dropping out of the race today.

Beto tried to beat his competition by advocating for the most leniency toward illegal immigration and for the most foreign workers to help business owners. (Take a look at his positions below.)

But Elizabeth Warren matched his nearly open-borders enthusiasm, and most of the rest of the candidates came very close.

Our Prez Grid focuses on the 7 Democratic candidates whose Real Clear Politics average polling number exceeded the 2% mark on September 1. As a Republican Primary becomes more clarified, we will rate and grade its candidates on the same criteria, which are 11 categories that indicate how each candidate's positions on immigration would affect market pressures to raise wages and encourage employers to recruit from underutilized U.S. populations

Will candidates agree with the Party's voters that immigration laws should favor recruiting -- and pay raises for -- American workers?

You wouldn't sense it from the candidates in the Democratic debates thus far, but most Democratic voters want the government to stop illegal migration.

And they want it done in a way that should be comfortable for Democratic candidates to espouse -- by clamping down on exploitative businesses that entice illegal migration with illegal jobs.

Shouts such as "concentration camps" and "holocaust" from one side and "send her back" on another side make it impossible to have the civil conversation that a public policy like immigration must have if practical and just solutions are to be adopted.

I urge all who seek a restored order at the border and a reduction in immigration numbers to avoid even a hint of nativism in response to the challenges at hand.

If you are finding your Fourth of July weekend diminished by over-packed highways, over-crowded parks, and ill-maintained infrastructures unable to keep up with the people growth, blame the Members of Congress. It is their immigration policies that bear the No. 1 responsibility.

Since the year 2000, nearly 50 million people have been added to our sprawling cities. And Congress' immigration policies caused most of it, according to Pew Research.

Don't let immigration slow down the momentum for U.S. wage increases. That's the key message and purpose of our latest cable TV ad campaign. A lot of people are celebrating that the recent strong economy of jobs growth has tightened the labor market enough that so that wages have been rising at every level of the employment ladder. But we're concerned that a lot of them are not aware that wages still have a long way to climb before most occupations are paying inflation-adjusted wages as high as they did 45 years ago.

NumbersUSA Education & Research Foundation provides a civil forum for Americans of all political and ethnic backgrounds to focus on a single issue, the numerical level of U.S. immigration. We educate opinion leaders, policymakers and the public on immigration legislation, policies and their consequences. We favor reductions in immigration numbers toward traditional levels that would allow present and future generations of Americans to enjoy a stabilizing U.S. population and a high degree of individual liberty, mobility, environmental quality, worker fairness and fiscal responsibility.

Those who need to refer to NumbersUSA with a short, descriptive modifier should call it an “immigration-reduction organization.”
