Just a few weeks ago, Roy introduced our search engine that allows you to look for businesses that are protecting American jobs by using the E-Verify employment verification system. Our database got a little publicity last week when an employment screening service, Liberty Screening in Houston, Texas, advertised our search engine on their website.
More than 15,000 new businesses have been added to our E-Verify database today, increasing the number of total businesses to 195,885. That’s nearly 200,000 of your local restaurants, dry cleaners, car washes, and grocery stores that you can check to see if they’re protecting American jobs by only hiring legal workers.
A new poll conducted by the Public Religion Research Institute and funded by the Ford Foundation attempts to debunk a poll conducted a few months ago by Zogby and the Center for Immigration Studies. I invite you to compare the questions. I think you’ll find that the Zogby poll tries to reveal people’s opinions versus the Public Religion Research poll that tries to manufacture people’s opinions.

The Senate is out of session until next week, and even though the House is back, they’ve spent most of their time on retreats and planning the next six months before turning their attention to the mid-term elections. Two new polls reveal that Americans favor lower immigration numbers, stronger border and interior enforcement, and oppose giving amnesty to the 12-18 million illegal aliens currently living in the United States. While Sen. Chuck Schumer (D-NY) works on a “comprehensive immigration reform” bill that would provide a mass amnesty to illegal aliens and increase America’s overly generous immigration numbers, Americans want a very different solution.
