For eight days in July 1834, immigrants' fear of the mere possibility of a future flood of newly freed slaves from the South competing with them for jobs in New York City boiled over into a full-scale riot involving thousands. No collection of sacrifices by any of the rest of us in service to our national community can ever add up to the single sacrifice of a person's very life. How can we possibly give the honor and respect earned by that sacrifice? The impossibility, however, does not release us from a responsibility to try.

According to Pres. Biden in last week's State of the Union address, "EVERYONE from labor unions to religious leaders to the U.S. Chamber of Commerce" supports his "immigration reform."
Apparently, African American voters aren't part of his "everyone."

A new survey found that an overwhelming portion of New Hampshire voters oppose the amnesty that their electorally vulnerable Senator Maggie Hassan is supporting in the $2 trillion Build Back Better reconciliation bill before the Senate. The polling shows that Sen. Hassan is putting her political career at considerable risk if she votes to approve the 10-year amnesty in the BBB reconciliation bill.

NumbersUSA Education & Research Foundation provides a civil forum for Americans of all political and ethnic backgrounds to focus on a single issue, the numerical level of U.S. immigration. We educate opinion leaders, policymakers and the public on immigration legislation, policies and their consequences. We favor reductions in immigration numbers toward traditional levels that would allow present and future generations of Americans to enjoy a stabilizing U.S. population and a high degree of individual liberty, mobility, environmental quality, worker fairness and fiscal responsibility.

Those who need to refer to NumbersUSA with a short, descriptive modifier should call it an “immigration-reduction organization.”
