Human trafficking continues because the U.S. government refuses to take adequate steps to combat illegal immigration. Amnesty will only encourage more of the same. Border security and interior enforcement -- not lip service to the "rule of law" -- are necessary to end this scourge.

Andrew R. Arthur, Resident Fellow in Law and Policy at the Center for Immigration Studies, has looked at Joe Biden's immigration agenda and estimates that Biden's promise of amnesty and non-enforcement of immigration law could result in "millions — if not tens of millions — of aliens [who] will remain in and/or enter the United States illegally and stay forever."

There are 40 million in the U.S. out of work, and many businesses that are beginning to re-open are operating below the capacity they were before the coronavirus shutdown. What does this signal for immigration expansionists? The urgent need for more foreign workers.

America is facing a crisis that will test our resiliency. It's important to ignore much of the noise coming from D.C., as partisans try to figure out how they will pin blame on their opponents. It is crucial that we do pay attention to what is in legislation passing through Congress to ensure this emergency isn't used as another excuse for politicians to reward their donors.

The Supreme Court heard oral arguments in the case challenging President Trump's decision to end DACA. Most who sat in on the session anticipate that the Justices will side with the Administration. It remains to be seen whether or not the Court will rule on the constitutionality of President Obama's executive amnesty.

Despite the constant drumbeat of reports to the contrary, there is no worker shortage in the United States. If there were, our crops would go unpicked, our lawns unmown, and our computer games uncoded. Maybe there's something else behind these claims.

President Trump last week reiterated his call for more foreign workers to fill jobs apparently Americans won't do. This was lost in the blow-up between the President and CNN correspondent Jim Acosta. However, it isn't the first time the President has said this, and it isn't true.

Historian Christopher Browning Out of His Element When it Comes to U.S. Immigration Policy

Christopher Browning, a professor of German history, published a long essay in The New York Review of Books. The topic wasn't a book review but a vituperative attack on President Trump, including a denunciation of those, Trump supporters or not, who seek to restrict immigration. It is shockingly shoddy work by someone of Browning's stature, and any effect it may have will only serve to inflame political passions.

"Vox explains the news." Or so they say. Last week a Vox writer tried to explain how Baby Boomers are dependent upon immigrants to fund their Social Security. This is untrue. The Social Security system is in dire straits, but immigration is not going to save it. In fact, our current immigration system is putting strains on the system, and more immigration would only make matters worse.

NumbersUSA Education & Research Foundation provides a civil forum for Americans of all political and ethnic backgrounds to focus on a single issue, the numerical level of U.S. immigration. We educate opinion leaders, policymakers and the public on immigration legislation, policies and their consequences. We favor reductions in immigration numbers toward traditional levels that would allow present and future generations of Americans to enjoy a stabilizing U.S. population and a high degree of individual liberty, mobility, environmental quality, worker fairness and fiscal responsibility.

Those who need to refer to NumbersUSA with a short, descriptive modifier should call it an “immigration-reduction organization.”
