Although President Biden didn't deploy the Ponzi-scheme rhetoric of the Washington Post in his State of the Union address, his immigration-expansion policies would push America further into overshoot.

Is the United States "empty" because there's not a billion plus people already living here? Journalist Matthew Yglesias argues that's the case. Not convincingly, but that didn't stop him from writing an entire book on the subject.

In his August 26 article, “California, We Can’t Go On Like This,” The New York Times columnist Farhad Manjoo said that "the nation's most populous state" was also failing to live sustainably. Readers were quick to point out that Manjoo failed to make the connection between the two.

The crises in California are a long way from over, and the problems will be more difficult to solve as the state's population, now at 40 million, continues to grow. Wildfires, water shortages, and planned power outages are just the tip of the iceberg if population is not part of the discussion to fix and enforce U.S. immigration policies.

Obama’s stance on energy/environment doesn't jibe with his immigration goals

The president has talked a lot since taking office about creating new energy guidelines, and the White House paid the usual lip service to Earth Day. But I’m wondering: How does this president square his energy and environmental concerns with his apparent willingness to continue fueling our population growth with a reckless immigration policy that benefits only vote-hungry politicians and companies fearful of losing their abundant supply of cheap foreign labor?

I was dining in downtown Boston with a long-time acquaintance of Teddy Kennedy at the very time the Senator died a week ago. We had discussed what had caused Kennedy to pursue immigration policies that so fundamentally changed America. When I awoke the next morning to the Massachusetts TV stations doing their eulogies, I decided to wait until after burial to share my thoughts. . . .

NumbersUSA Education & Research Foundation provides a civil forum for Americans of all political and ethnic backgrounds to focus on a single issue, the numerical level of U.S. immigration. We educate opinion leaders, policymakers and the public on immigration legislation, policies and their consequences. We favor reductions in immigration numbers toward traditional levels that would allow present and future generations of Americans to enjoy a stabilizing U.S. population and a high degree of individual liberty, mobility, environmental quality, worker fairness and fiscal responsibility.

Those who need to refer to NumbersUSA with a short, descriptive modifier should call it an “immigration-reduction organization.”
