Whistleblower: Biden Admin. Resettled Approx. 400 Afghans Listed as “Potential Nat. Security Risks”

author Published by Chris Pierce

According to a new whistleblower within the Biden Administration, Federal agencies knowingly resettled approximately 400 Afghans listed as “potential threats to national security” throughout the United States over the past year after the failed military withdrawal from the country in August 2021.

When it became apparent that the U.S. withdrawal from Afghanistan would be anything but smooth, the Biden Administration quickly opened a refugee and parole pipeline to evacuate tens of thousands of unvetted Afghans to communities within the United States.

With bipartisan help from Congress, Biden resettled more than 85,000 Afghans across 46 states in the past year. The majority of these Afghans were brought to the United States and granted parole without being screened or interviewed in person.

Now, a whistleblower who reached out to the offices of Sens. Josh Hawley (R-MO) and Ron Johnson (R-WI) explaining that not only did the Biden Administration admit hundreds of Afghans they knew were listed in federal “watch list” databases as national security threats, but the administration also urged staff to cut corners in the vetting process.

In a letter, Sens. Hawley and Johnson conveyed the information to the Department of Defense Inspector General. You can read the Senators’ letter here.

Breitbart News reports:

The new allegations come after a Department of Defense (DOD) Inspector General report revealed that Biden’s agencies failed to properly vet Afghans arriving in the United States. The report states that as of November 2021, fifty Afghans already in the United States had been flagged for “significant security concerns.”

Most of the unvetted Afghans flagged for possible terrorism ties, the report states, have since disappeared into the nation’s interior. The report noted that as of September 17, 2021, only three of 31 Afghans flagged for security concerns could be located.

According to reporting, Sens. Hawley and Johnson have asked the Biden Administration to detail precisely how many Afghans resettled in the United States, matched identities in the federal government’s “terrorist watch list” databases. Unfortunately, the fact that potential terrorists were able to slip into the country may not be as surprising as it sounds. Breitbart News concludes:

Even for Afghans not yet resettled in the United States, Biden has authorized his agencies to cut back on vetting procedures. In a stunning move, Biden’s Department of Homeland Security (DHS) announced in June that Afghans who “provided … limited material support” to terrorist organizations would still qualify for resettlement in American communities.
