Reps. Duncan Hunter (R-Calif.) and Tim Griffin (R-Ark.) have cosponsored House Judiciary Chairman Lamar Smith’s Legal Workforce Act (H.R.2885). The bill would require 100% of businesses to begin using E-Verify for all new hires within 2 years and require all federal and state governments to check new hires and existing employees within 6 months.Rep. Duncan Hunter represents California’s 52nd Congressional District and is serving his second term in Congress. He has earned a career A-minus grade and had cosponsored Chairman Smith’s originial E-Verify bill.Rep. Tim Griffin represents Arkansas’ 2nd Congressional District and is serving his first term in Congress. Rep. Griffin has already earned an A-minus grade and was identified as a “True Reformer” during last year’s mid-term elections.
