author Published by Eric Ruark

Advocates in New York state are pushing for drivers’ licenses for illegal aliens and have gained support among members of the state government, including Comptroller Scott Stringer.

A public opinion poll by Quinnipiac released on March 20, 2019 asked voters in New York state about his topic.

Do you support or oppose giving driver’s licenses to undocumented immigrants throughout New York State?

A strong majority opposes issuing driver’s licenses to illegal aliens, who are referred to in the poll question as “undocumented immigrants.”

Twelve states and the District of Columbia now allow drivers licenses to be issued to illegal aliens, however doing so remains unpopular with voters. When Oregon put the question on a referendum in 2014, voters rejected issuing drivers’ licenses to illegal aliens 66% to 34%.
