Border Security Coalition Releases Third Letter to Congress: ‘Keep Your Promise’

author Published by Chris Pierce

NumbersUSA, along with the nation’s strongest voices in the fight against Biden’s border crisis, recently released their third signed letter demanding that the new Republican House majority follow through with their campaign promises to immediately act to end the record-breaking border crisis, ensure border security, and reduce illegal immigration.

As mentioned above, this is the third such letter by the Border Security Coalition reminding Congress not only of the salience of the issue but their duty to regain operational control of the southwestern border and put a stop to the security and humanitarian crisis caused by President Biden’s reckless open-border, sanctuary-nation policies.

In the Spring of 2022, the Border Patrol Coalition sent its first letter to Congress, where it laid out an assemblage of immigration policies that would end the border crisis by reducing asylum fraud, securing the border, and closing blatant loopholes in America’s immigration legal system that have been exploited for far too long.

Republicans in the House of Representatives adopted many of the recommended proposals as part of a policy platform entering the 2022 midterms, including the American Security Taskforce and subsequent Commitment to America.

Nearly a year later, in December, when Democrats, special interest groups, and the open-borders lobby sought to introduce lame-duck immigration legislation, the coalition sent a second letter to Congress urging them to maintain their principles and not let any form of amnesty make its way to the President’s desk.

The purpose of the third coalition letter is to make clear to the new Republican majority that there is no time to wait to take action in combating the ongoing border crisis – namely by ending the massive abuse in the United State’s asylum system.

Already several House Republicans have begun to construct essential reforms that would help mediate the damage caused by the Biden Administration’s open-border policies. But, in addition to creating legislation, GOP Representatives must also vigorously oppose the Democrats’ open-border agenda and make clear their commitment to seeing through commonsense, proven fixes that will end the crisis on our southern border.
