DHS to release 10,000 Illegal Aliens due to budget cuts

The Department of Homeland Security has announced it will release up to 10,000 illegalaliens who are currently in custody due to the budget cuts expected to kick in at the end of this week. While DHS did say they prioritized based on who would pose a significant threat to public safety, the move has some lawmakers and law enforcement agents nervous.Arizona’s Pinal County Sheriff Paul Babeu told FoxNews.com that his department is concerned about the 500 illegal aliens they’ve been ordered to release.”President Obama would never release 500 criminal illegals to the streets of his hometown, yet he has no problem with releasing them in Arizona. The safety of the public is threatened and the rule of law discarded as a political tactic in this sequester battle,” a spokesman for Sheriff Babeu said.Senator Jeff Sessions of Alabama called the decision reckless.”It is clear the Administration is using the sequester as a convenient excuse to bow to political pressure from the amnesty groups, as it did with its unilateral decision to confer legal status on millions who are not lawfully present,” Sen. Sessions said. “With this new action, the Administration has further demonstrated that it has no commitment to enforcing the law and cannot be trusted to deliver on any future promises of enforcement.”ICE said it will continue to prosecute the cases while they keep the released illegal aliens under supervision.For more information, see FoxNews.com.
