A manager of a leather goods manufacturer in New Bedford, Ma. has been sentenced to two years probation after an Immigration and Customs Enforcement raid in 2007 revealed that she had helped the factory hire and conceal illegal workers.
Michael Bianco Inc. production manager Dilia Costa pleaded guilty in October for harboring and concealing illegal aliens and hiring unauthorized immigrants. She was sentenced to home confinement for six months.
The factory’s former owner, Francesco Insolia, was sentenced on Tuesday to 12 months in prison and $1 million fine after pleading guilty to charges of knowingly hiring and concealing illegal workers.
ICE officials arrested 361 workers in 2007.
