H.R. 3566:

H.R. 3566

Published:  Tue, Feb 16th 2016 @ 1:56 pm EST

NumbersUSA's Position:

Support

H.R.3566 would prevent illegal aliens from receiving in-state tuition. The bill specifically excludes individuals who are not legally present in the United States from receiving in-state tuition. The bill also provides U.S. citizens and legal immigrants standing in a court of law to challenge an institution of higher learning that extends in-state tuition to illegal aliens.

H.R. 3573:

Refugee Resettlement Oversight and Security Act of 2015

Published:  Tue, Feb 16th 2016 @ 2:29 pm EST

NumbersUSA's Position:

Support

H.R. 3573, the Refugee Resettlement Oversight and Security Act of 2015, would require Congress to pass a joint resolution each year approving the number of refugees resettled in the United States each year. This would likely reduce the resettlement of refugees into the United States by requiring greater Congressional oversight.

H.R. 3436

Published:  Wed, Aug 26th 2015 @ 8:23 pm EDT

NumbersUSA's Position:

Oppose

H.R. 3436 would provide discretionary authority to immigration judges in the case of an illegal alien subject to removal, deportation, or exclusion and who is the parent of a U.S. citizen child if the judge determines that action to be against the child's best interests.

NumbersUSA's Position:

H.R. 3437, the Protecting American Lives Act, would block SCAAP funding and other law enforcement grants to local jurisdictions that pass ordinances or otherwise prevent local officials from cooperating the federal immigration agents.

S. 1889:

REBUILD Act

Published:  Thu, Oct 13th 2016 @ 11:14 am EDT

NumbersUSA's Position:

Oppose

S. 1899, the REBUILD Act, would allow refugee applicants to receive a work permit while they're waiting for their case to be decided. This legislation would likely increase the level fraud in a program that's already riddled with fraud.

Published:  Wed, Aug 26th 2015 @ 8:14 pm EDT

NumbersUSA's Position:

H.R. 3314, the Resettlement Accountability National Security Act of 2015, would immediately suspend all refugee resettlement until the Government Accountability Office can assess its costs to state and local municipalities and potential national security threats.

EB-JOBS Act of 2015

Published:  Thu, Aug 27th 2015 @ 10:38 am EDT

NumbersUSA's Position:

Oppose

H.R. 3370, the EB-JOBS Act of 2015, would issue a green card to any foreign citizen who has held an E-2 visa for the last 10 years while also increasing other investor-based visa programs. We estimate that this legislation would add 3.4 million green cards over 10 years.

S. 1842:

Protecting American Lives Act

Published:  Wed, Oct 12th 2016 @ 3:10 pm EDT

NumbersUSA's Position:

Support

S. 1842, the Protecting American Lives Act, would block all federal funding to jurisdictions that prevent law enforcement agents from fully cooperating with federal immigration agents. The bill would require that jurisdictions notify ICE when they come in lawful contact with illegal aliens. The bill would also impose mandatory sentencing requirements for illegal aliens who re-enter the country after being removed.

NumbersUSA Education & Research Foundation provides a civil forum for Americans of all political and ethnic backgrounds to focus on a single issue, the numerical level of U.S. immigration. We educate opinion leaders, policymakers and the public on immigration legislation, policies and their consequences. We favor reductions in immigration numbers toward traditional levels that would allow present and future generations of Americans to enjoy a stabilizing U.S. population and a high degree of individual liberty, mobility, environmental quality, worker fairness and fiscal responsibility.

Those who need to refer to NumbersUSA with a short, descriptive modifier should call it an “immigration-reduction organization.”
