REAL GUEST Act of 2005

The bill would strengthen border security and interior enforcement and, once the enforcement provisions are in place, would implement a new guest worker program that includes protections for American workers and is responsive to actual market conditions, but without including any form of amnesty.

To enhance border enforcement, improve homeland security, remove incentives for illegal immigration, and establish a guest worker program.

H.R. 3322, the USA Jobs Protection Act, would implement reforms of the H-1B and L-1 visa programs aimed at preventing American high-tech workers from being displaced by foreign workers. It includes important protections for American workers, including prevailing wage and no-layoff provisions. It also extends current no-layoff provisions for H-1B dependent employers to all H-1B employers.

H.R. 3137, the CLEAR Act, would bring our 700,000 state and local law officers on the beat with respect to immigration crimes and allow local law enforcement officials to detain and process illegal aliens, thus increasing interior enforcement. Of the many provisions of the CLEAR Act, some of the most important provide for: training on local officers in immigration law enforcement, increased in formation sharing regarding violations of immigration law among various law enforcement agencies, and additional resources to local law enforcement and Homeland Security.

Homeland Security Enhancement Act of 2005

NumbersUSA Education & Research Foundation provides a civil forum for Americans of all political and ethnic backgrounds to focus on a single issue, the numerical level of U.S. immigration. We educate opinion leaders, policymakers and the public on immigration legislation, policies and their consequences. We favor reductions in immigration numbers toward traditional levels that would allow present and future generations of Americans to enjoy a stabilizing U.S. population and a high degree of individual liberty, mobility, environmental quality, worker fairness and fiscal responsibility.

Those who need to refer to NumbersUSA with a short, descriptive modifier should call it an “immigration-reduction organization.”
