S. 2435: 

Defend America Act of 2015

NumbersUSA's Position:  

Support

S. 2435, the Defend America Act of 2015, would halt the resettlement of refugees from Syria or Iraq. It would also require the Department of Homeland Security to send information on refugees to the states before being resettled.

S. 2394: 

American Jobs First Act of 2015

Support

S. 2394, the American Jobs First Act of 2015, would implement major reforms of the H-1B program including adding a minimum wage provision ($110,000), and increasing the fee for employers to $10,000. More than 90% of H-1Bs issued in 2013 were for positions that paid less than $110,000 per year. The bill would also end the Visa Lottery.

S. 2395:

S. 2395 would open state assistance for incarcerating aliens charged with certain crimes (no longer just conviction) as well as aliens for whom immigration status is unable to be verified. The House companion bill is H.R. 5035.

H.R. 4218:

H.R. 4218 would halt all refugee resettlement until both the President and the Department of Homeland Security provides reports to Congress detailing the program's costs and procedures and a joint resolution is passed through Congress.

State Refugee Security Act of 2015

To amend the Immigration and Nationality Act to permit the Governor of a State to reject the resettlement of a refugee in that State unless there is adequate assurance that the alien does not present a security risk and for other purposes.

Protecting American Jobs Act

S. 2365, the Protecting American Jobs Act, would reduce the number of H-1Bs issued each year by 15,000 and require DHS issue visas on the basis of descending salaries.

H.R. 4143: 

Terrorist Refugee Infiltration Prevention Act of 2015

H.R. 4143, the Terrorist Refugee Infiltration Prevention Act of 2015, would halt the resettlement of refugees from countries that contain terrorist controlled areas unless certified by the Departments of Defense and Homeland Security, the FBI, and the Director of National Intelligence.

H.R. 4089: 

Student Visa Security Improvement Act

H.R. 4089, the Student Visa Security Improvement Act, would require DHS employees to review the applications, conduct in-person interviews where appropriate, and conduct on-site reviews of applications and supporting documentation with respect to student and exchange program visa applicants prior to final visa adjudication.

NumbersUSA Education & Research Foundation provides a civil forum for Americans of all political and ethnic backgrounds to focus on a single issue, the numerical level of U.S. immigration. We educate opinion leaders, policymakers and the public on immigration legislation, policies and their consequences. We favor reductions in immigration numbers toward traditional levels that would allow present and future generations of Americans to enjoy a stabilizing U.S. population and a high degree of individual liberty, mobility, environmental quality, worker fairness and fiscal responsibility.

Those who need to refer to NumbersUSA with a short, descriptive modifier should call it an “immigration-reduction organization.”
