H.R. 5851, the Refugee Protection Act, would make dramatic reforms to the Refugee program making it much easier for foreign nationals to come to the United States and claim refugee status. The bill virtually allows anyone who can make it to the United States to be approved for asylum process -- a number that could potentially affect more than 10 million people.
H.R. 3814, the Asylum Seeker Work Authorization Act of 2015, would allow asylum applicants not in detention whose application is still being reviewed but deemed to not be frivolous to receive a one-year renewable work permit.
S. 2145, the Middle East Refugee Emergency Supplemental Appropriations Act, 2016, would provide funding to increase the number of refugees resettled in the United States each year from an average of 70,000 to 100,000 per year.
S. 1899, the REBUILD Act, would allow refugee applicants to receive a work permit while they're waiting for their case to be decided. This legislation would likely increase the level fraud in a program that's already riddled with fraud.
H.R. 2798, the Strengthening Refugee Resettlement Act, would automatically make all refugees and asylees green card holders, likely increasing the amount of fraud that already exists within the program.
Making appropriations for military construction, the Department of Veterans Affairs, and related agencies for the fiscal year ending September 30, 2016, and for other purposes. The legislation included provisions that would potentially quadruple the H-2B program for FY2016 and increase refugee resettlement by 21%.
H.R.52, the Save America Comprehensive Immigration Act of 2015, would grant amnesty to 11 million illegal alien living in the United States. The legislation would also double the caps in chain migration categories, double the visa lottery, grant amnesty to foreign citizens who currently have Temporary Protected Status, and repeal any bans on funding for sanctuary cities. The legislation does include some improvements to border security.
S. 2619, the Children Returning on an Expedited and Safe Timeline Act, would attempt to address the surge at the Southwest border by redefining undocumented alien children (UAC). Unfortunately, in doing so, it actually expands the definition to include all children who cross the border without a parent or legal guardian. Under current law, a UAC must not have a parent or legal guardian inside the U.S. Therefore, such an expansion would place an enormous number of children who were otherwise ineligible through the UAC process.

Though the distinction between UACs from Mexico and other countries is removed, it exposes all of them to a complicated process which would further delay returning the children to their countries of origin.
