H.R. 4240, the Secure America Act, would increase border control by permitting the use of the Army and Air Force to secure the border and increase interior enforcement by increasing criminal fines and penalties for alien smuggling and by authorizing DHS to deny admission to aliens from countries that refuse to accept return of their nationals who are removed by the United States.

Strengthening America’s Workforce Act of 2005

S. 1918, the Strengthening America’s Workforce Act, would create a new visa category, the H-2C visa, for willing workers. The legislation could potentially skyrocket foreign-worker importation by exempting from any numeric limit foreign students with advanced degrees in math, science, technology, and engineering and the immediate relatives of employment-based immigrants.

Rapid Response Border Protection Act of 2005

H.R. 4044, the Rapid Response Border Protection Act, would increase border patrol efforts by providing for additional border patrol agents, additional border patrol equipment and training facilities, incentives for careers in the Border Patrol, and deployment of border patrol agents to states where a border security state of emergency has been declared. It would also increase interior enforcement by providing for additional immigration inspectors, additional immigration enforcement agents, and additional detention beds.

NumbersUSA Education & Research Foundation provides a civil forum for Americans of all political and ethnic backgrounds to focus on a single issue, the numerical level of U.S. immigration. We educate opinion leaders, policymakers and the public on immigration legislation, policies and their consequences. We favor reductions in immigration numbers toward traditional levels that would allow present and future generations of Americans to enjoy a stabilizing U.S. population and a high degree of individual liberty, mobility, environmental quality, worker fairness and fiscal responsibility.

Those who need to refer to NumbersUSA with a short, descriptive modifier should call it an “immigration-reduction organization.”
