H.R. 6 would grant amnesty to approximately 3.2 million illegal aliens who entered the country prior to their 18th birthday and meet certain requirements. It would also provide amnesty to approximately 430,000 recipients of Temporary Protected Status (TPS). Most TPS recipients were in the country illegally at the time they received the designation.
To provide for the adjustment of status of certain nationals of Liberia to that of lawful permanent residents, and for other purposes.
To grant lawful permanent resident status to certain eligible persons who were separated from immediate family members by the Department of Homeland Security.
To improve agricultural job opportunities, benefits, and security for aliens in the United States and for other purposes.
To close loopholes in the immigration laws that serve as incentives to aliens to attempt to enter the United States unlawfully, and for other purposes.
