H.R. 87:

Grant’s Law

Published:  Tue, Feb 7th 2023 @ 2:19 pm EST

NumbersUSA's Position:

Support

"Grant's Law" would require the mandatory detention of illegal aliens arrested for any offense that would cause them to become inadmissible or deportable. H.R. 87 would also allow the Secretary of DHS to release illegal aliens to local authorities to face criminal proceedings; if the alien is not convicted, DHS must take them back into custody until the time of their removal from the U.S. Finally, H.R. 87 would require aliens convicted of deportable offenses to be removed from the U.S. within 90 days.

H.R. 90:

Voter Integrity Protection Act

Published:  Tue, Feb 7th 2023 @ 2:20 pm EST

NumbersUSA's Position:

Support

The "Voter Integrity Protection Act" would classify voting as an illegal alien not only as a deportable offense, which it is already, but also as an aggravated felony that carries various consequences, such as rendering the alien inadmissible, deportable, and barred from naturalization.

Published:  Tue, Feb 7th 2023 @ 2:21 pm EST

H.R. 114:

Fund and Complete the Border Wall Act

Published:  Tue, Feb 7th 2023 @ 2:22 pm EST

NumbersUSA's Position:

Support

The "Fund and Complete the Border Wall Act" would establish a federal fund to build effective border barriers along the entire southwestern border. The fund will be established by taxing all alien remittances, raising I-94 fees from $6 to $25, and reducing foreign aid to any nation by $2,000 per foreign citizen who crosses into the U.S. illegally.

H.R. 163:

Security First Act

Published:  Tue, Feb 7th 2023 @ 2:24 pm EST

The "Security First Act" would create a trust fund for FEMA's Operation Stonegarden, which provides funding to local law enforcement agencies to support joint efforts in securing the U.S. borders. H.R. 163 would also require a report on DHS hiring practices, designate Mexican Cartels as terrorist organizations, and call for a study on border security technology to determine needed upgrades.

H.R. 194:

SECURE America Act

Published:  Tue, Feb 7th 2023 @ 2:26 pm EST

NumbersUSA's Position:

Support

The "SECURE America Act" would require an annual joint resolution from Congress to set refugee caps, allow Congress to review refugee rules made by federal agencies, bar DHS from paroling any alien who has not been granted legal status, and allow Governors to refuse refugee resettlement in their state. H.R. 194 states that potential refugees must obtain a DHS and FBI background check, "assimilation likelihood screening," and approval from both the FBI and DNI before admission.

H.R. 213:

Break the Chain Act

Published:  Tue, Feb 7th 2023 @ 2:26 pm EST

NumbersUSA's Position:

Support

The "Break the Chain Act" would eliminate the practice of Chain Migration by narrowing the definition of "immediate relatives," which are currently not subject to any numerical limits. H.R. 213 also reduces the baseline cap on family-sponsored visas and applies said cap to children and spouses of sponsoring green card holders. H.R. 213 creates a non-immigrant visa category for alien parents of U.S. citizens, allowing admission for 5 years without the ability to work or receive public benefits.

NumbersUSA Education & Research Foundation provides a civil forum for Americans of all political and ethnic backgrounds to focus on a single issue, the numerical level of U.S. immigration. We educate opinion leaders, policymakers and the public on immigration legislation, policies and their consequences. We favor reductions in immigration numbers toward traditional levels that would allow present and future generations of Americans to enjoy a stabilizing U.S. population and a high degree of individual liberty, mobility, environmental quality, worker fairness and fiscal responsibility.

Those who need to refer to NumbersUSA with a short, descriptive modifier should call it an “immigration-reduction organization.”
