The bill would require DHS, in consultation with the Social Security Administration (SSA), to establish an employer data-sharing program under which SSA would provide DHS, at the latter’s request: (1) a list of employers who are determined by SSA to have employed, during any period to which the request relates, any employee whose Social Security number (SSN), as provided to the employer, did not match SSA records; and (2) the number of instances occurring during that period of the employment by each employer of such an employee; would prohibit disclosed information from being used by DHS fo

The bill would require DHS’ Inspector General (IG) to review, in a timely manner, each contract action related to the Secure Border Initiative having a value greater than $20 million to determine whether the action fully complies with applicable cost requirements, performance objectives, program milestones, timelines, etc., and would require the IG to report his findings – including any cost overruns, delays in execution, lack of departmental contract management or oversight, etc.

The bill would require DHS to develop and implement a plan to better recruit and retain Border Patrol agents and include in that plan a scheme to award bonuses for recruitment and retention of Border Patrol agents.

This bill would clarify state and local law enforcement’s inherent authority to enforce Federal immigration laws; and would overturn a decades-old court injunction that impedes the Federal government’s ability to remove aliens from El Salvador on an expedited basis.
