The "Protect Communities from a Porous Border Act of 2023" would require DHS to notify Governors of its intent to detain or house aliens in their state at least ten days before doing so, with a certification that they have undergone the appropriate background checks. H.R. 402 would allow Governors to refuse resettlements in their states and apply to The United States Refugee Admissions Program, paroled refugees/aliens, and unaccompanied alien children - but would not apply to asylum-seekers.
The "Finish the Wall Act" would require immediate resumption of border barrier construction and require DNA and fingerprint data collection at all Customs and Border Protection facilities that process adult aliens.
