The final text of the budget reconciliation bill (H.R. 1) includes $170 BILLION for immigration enforcement, including:
Over $130 billion in border and detention funding from the Homeland Security Committee
Provisions include:
$46.5 BILLION for the border wall
$855 Million for Customs and Border Protection (CBP) vehicles
$4.1 BILLION for hiring border patrol
$2 BILLION for retention bonuses for border patrol
$5 BILLION for facilities
$45 BILLION for detention capacity
$6.1 BILLION for border technology and screening
$10 BILLION to reimburse states in grant funding to reimburse states for border security
$10 BILLION for additional border security
Over $40 billion from the Judiciary Committee
Provisions include:
$2 BILLION for additional Custom and Border Protection (CBP) Agents, transportation and expedited removal
$29.8 BILLION for Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) to hire more officers and provide the funds needed to deport a record number of illegal aliens, including:
Transportation costs for removal operations
Facility upgrades
Fleet modernization
§287(g) agreements for state and local law enforcement participation
Hiring and training additional staff at ICE’s Victims of Immigration Crime Engagement (VOICE) Office; and
Hiring and training Office of the Principal Legal Advisor attorneys and staff.
$750 Million for ICE law enforcement training facility
$3.32 BILLION for hiring immigration judges
$3.5 BILLION to reimburse states for costs to apprehend and detain illegal aliens
An additional $1 BILLION for border security from the Armed Services Committee
The Senate provisions are similar to those of the version the House passed in May, which contained $150 BILLION in enforcement funding.
