author Published by Chris Chmielenski

An amendment offered by Rep. John Barrow (D-Ga.) that would reallocate funds for the Law Enforcement Support Center (LESC) was passed by the House on Wednesday. The LESC is a national support center that assists state and local law enforcement officers when they come in contact suspected illegal aliens.

Rep. Barrow’s amendment provides $1 million for salaries for Immigration and Customs Enforcement to staff the support center. It takes money from money allocated to DHS executive management.

Rep. Barrow’s bill was passed by a voice vote.
