If Illegal Aliens are Already Citizens, then Joe Biden is Already President

Vice President and potential presidential candidate Joe Biden gave a speech last week in which he said the 11 million illegal aliens in the United States “are already Americans.” Famous for pandering to audiences and, uh, stretching the truth, Biden also has been a champion for causes irrespective of whether they are consistent with U.S. laws or the Constitution. So if he’s misguided enough to think illegal aliens are citizens, perhaps one day Biden will dispense with the formalities of an election and declare he’s already president. Or at least the comic-in-chief.

The mainstream news media is filled with awe that Newt Gingrich showed some "compassion" for illegal aliens in last night's GOP presidential debate. A look at his record while in Congress shows this is nothing new.  In fact, his leadership was one of the reasons we have illegal aliens who have been able to stay in this country for 25 years. Take a look . . .

On Immigration -- Perry Loses Big in Florida Debate -- Romney & Bachmann Hold Ground

On immigration tonight, Perry and Huntsman lose big. Santorum seems all about "illegal bad but lots of legal immigration good."  Bachmann and Romney stand out as champions of the rule of law. The others appeared to not care.  All of them failed to show real compassion for the millions of unemployed Americans by relating immigration policy to jobs.

Some of our best friends have suggested to me that my blog and email on Ron Paul's immigration statements in his new book seemed a little too aggressive and that maybe I hadn't allowed Dr. Paul a chance to improve on his statements before downgrading his Presidential Hopefuls' immigration grade to an "F." I am sorry that I conveyed the impression to some that I was out to punish him or that I would not be happy to have him "clarify" and "revise" the stances he takes in his book. So, here we go . . . So, I want to take a deep breath and show you exactly what we have on Congressman Paul's stances and why we rated them as we have. Nothing personal. What does it mean when a Presidential candidate writes a book about his views and releases it to the public? Some of Congressman Ron Paul's supporters charge NumbersUSA with a dirty trick in using his statements about immigration in his new book to determine his "Presidential Hopefuls' Immigration Stances" grade of "F." This blog deals in more detail with his new book and how we used various statements along with his past actions to determine his grade.

The biggest problem with Rep. Paul's (R-Texas) latest comments on immigration is that they are NOT just some ad hoc thoughts tossed off carelessly at some speaking event. These are engraved in a brand new book.

Until the release of the book, Liberty Defined, Dr. Paul had a mixed record in Congress and the fact that he had taken the NumbersUSA "No Amnesty" pledge at the end of his Presidential campaign in 2008.

Of the 8 highest-polling potential candidates for President in 2012, which ones get the best immigration-reduction grades after we consider all their stances on the 12 most important immigration issues? Check inside for the answer, but the "best" gets only a "C." We posted the Prez Grid yesterday and already have gotten a few hundred emails about it. Most people are depressed at the poor ratings, but there is a lot of time to help these candidates to improve their voice on this urgent issue.
