If it has seemed for 30 years that powerful forces have intentionally prevented the rule of law in an orderly immigration system, LOSING CONTROL is a new book that tells you how it was done.

I know a lot of this story. I've worked on the issue full-time since 1991, and was a reporter covering it before that. But I learned a lot of new details from this book, enough that they kept me from skimming and kept me reading every word for each new revelation.

Bob Good -- who filled out NumbersUSA's candidate survey and promised to be a True Reformer on 12 top immigration goals -- has unseated incumbent Republican Congressman Denver Riggleman at the Party's primary convention.

A key issue in Rep. Riggleman's defeat was the charge that he was a close ally of business lobbies in their desire for more foreign workers.

There has been widespread chatter among pundits on both the left and the right that the 2020 Democratic candidates have been moving too far left on immigration, taking positions more extreme than Hilary Clinton who was trounced by Trump among immigration voters. But will Republicans make a clear enough distinction to take advantage of the opportunity?

"A big mistake." "Folly." "Insane." "Death knell." "Political malpractice." Is anyone playing to win on immigration?

In plain English, the Orwellian-named Farm Workforce Modernization Act grants amnesty to every illegal alien in this country who claims to have worked at least part-time for agriculture and creates an unlimited agriculture guest worker program for the future to bring in millions of low-skilled workers.

The White House FY2021 budget proposal includes a significant change from past budget proposals from the Trump Administration in that it no longer calls for nationwide, mandatory E-Verify.

The Farm Workforce Modernization Act of 2019, H.R. 4916, introduced by Congresswoman Zoe Lofgren (D-Calif.), would grant amnesty - including work permits, green cards, and a path to citizenship - to illegal aliens who have been unlawfully employed in agriculture during the past two years. The legislation proposes variations on two tried and demonstrably failed policies of the past: amnesty and indentured servitude.

NumbersUSA Education & Research Foundation provides a civil forum for Americans of all political and ethnic backgrounds to focus on a single issue, the numerical level of U.S. immigration. We educate opinion leaders, policymakers and the public on immigration legislation, policies and their consequences. We favor reductions in immigration numbers toward traditional levels that would allow present and future generations of Americans to enjoy a stabilizing U.S. population and a high degree of individual liberty, mobility, environmental quality, worker fairness and fiscal responsibility.

Those who need to refer to NumbersUSA with a short, descriptive modifier should call it an “immigration-reduction organization.”
