If the idea of booking a timed-entry reservation to experience the splendor of America's wild spaces seems like something out of a dystopian science fiction fantasy, the future is here. The national park system has grown significantly over its 150-year history, but the demand for access has grown faster. How is mass immigration going to help?

One of the few areas of steady bipartisan consensus is that mass immigration is the silver bullet to solve a wide variety of issues in the country. This brings us to the tragic story out of Alabama where it has been discovered young children were being employed at a Hyundai subsidiary. These are the collateral damage stories for the pie-in-the-sky 'nation of immigrants' narrative we are told.

No one can logically argue that the quality of life, long-term economic stability, and the health of the environment will not worsen if the current level of migration into the United States continues. And, yet, the Biden Administration is intent on letting in even more people, legally or not.

Americans are living more densely, on average, but we've paved over more than eleven-and-a-half million acres over the past two decades. Most of the loss is a result of the U.S. population growing by nearly 40 million people – a result of Congressional immigration policy.

With strong public commitment and political support for immigration reduction, aggregate water consumption could be reduced even more, allowing still more water to remain where it belongs — in natural streams, rivers, and lakes — where it furnishes ecological benefits to habitat, wildlife, and society.

The issue of high levels of immigration is not unique to the United States. An op-ed from the United Kingdom's The Times explains how Britain has recently grappled with the same situation. The overarching point is applicable to the United States: resources and land are finite and housing shortages are already pervasive. This continued population growth, which is driven by immigration policies, is out of the control of the average person as each country's governments are at the helm.

NumbersUSA Education & Research Foundation provides a civil forum for Americans of all political and ethnic backgrounds to focus on a single issue, the numerical level of U.S. immigration. We educate opinion leaders, policymakers and the public on immigration legislation, policies and their consequences. We favor reductions in immigration numbers toward traditional levels that would allow present and future generations of Americans to enjoy a stabilizing U.S. population and a high degree of individual liberty, mobility, environmental quality, worker fairness and fiscal responsibility.

Those who need to refer to NumbersUSA with a short, descriptive modifier should call it an “immigration-reduction organization.”
