Arizona Already Seeing Effects of Immigration Enforcement Law

Arizona's new immigration enforcement law doesn't take effect for another six weeks, but the state is seeing early signs of what impact it could have on its more than 400,000 illegal aliens. School districts are reporting an increased number of students being pulled from schools, and retail businesses that typically cater to illegal aliens are seeing a decrease in profits.

City of Orange, Calif. Votes to 'Stands with Arizona'

The city of Orange, Calif. voted earlier this week to "Stand with Arizona" after the council approved two resolutions that support Arizona's new immigration enforcement law. The city council declared Orange a rule of law city and several NumbersUSA activists were there to offer their thoughts to the council.

A new poll conducted by the Public Religion Research Institute and funded by the Ford Foundation attempts to debunk a poll conducted a few months ago by Zogby and the Center for Immigration Studies. I invite you to compare the questions. I think you’ll find that the Zogby poll tries to reveal people’s opinions versus the Public Religion Research poll that tries to manufacture people’s opinions.

Pres. Obama Proposes to Cut 180 Border Patrol Agents

Pres. Barack Obama's newly proposed 2011 budget would reduce the number of 180 Border Patrol agents along the Southwest border and cut the funding for the "virtual fence." Homeland Security plans to cut the jobs through attrition, and it would result in increased pay for the remaining agents.

The SAVE Act (H.R.3308) gained another cosponsor last week, adding Rep. Ron Klein (D-Fla.). Rep. Klein represents the suburban cities that lay west of I-95 in Palm Beach and Broward Counties. The bi-partisan bill that focuses on Attrition through Enforcement has 101 cosponsors.

NumbersUSA Education & Research Foundation provides a civil forum for Americans of all political and ethnic backgrounds to focus on a single issue, the numerical level of U.S. immigration. We educate opinion leaders, policymakers and the public on immigration legislation, policies and their consequences. We favor reductions in immigration numbers toward traditional levels that would allow present and future generations of Americans to enjoy a stabilizing U.S. population and a high degree of individual liberty, mobility, environmental quality, worker fairness and fiscal responsibility.

Those who need to refer to NumbersUSA with a short, descriptive modifier should call it an “immigration-reduction organization.”
