Ongoing mass immigration is not going to "fix" Social Security. At most, it can lead to more contributions to the Social Security Trust Fund in the short-term, but comparisons to a Ponzi scheme are on the mark. The system is not sustainable.

Americans have just celebrated Labor Day, and while their President has talked much about unions during his tenure, his Administration is still fighting against workers at every turn. The latest example is in a perpetually expanded H-2B visa program.

One of the few areas of steady bipartisan consensus is that mass immigration is the silver bullet to solve a wide variety of issues in the country. This brings us to the tragic story out of Alabama where it has been discovered young children were being employed at a Hyundai subsidiary. These are the collateral damage stories for the pie-in-the-sky 'nation of immigrants' narrative we are told.

There is no labor shortage in the United States. Most Americans recognize this and the data overwhelmingly bears it out. Nevertheless, with an ongoing border crisis and the U.S. in an economic downturn, members of Congress like Sen. Thom. Tillis are relentlessly working to pass amnesty and major increases in foreign guest workers.

For eight days in July 1834, immigrants' fear of the mere possibility of a future flood of newly freed slaves from the South competing with them for jobs in New York City boiled over into a full-scale riot involving thousands. This Juneteenth is a good time to think about the forces that had long opposed emancipation, perhaps none more vigorously in the North than new immigrants from Europe -- a product of thoughtless, uncontrolled mass immigration.

NumbersUSA Education & Research Foundation provides a civil forum for Americans of all political and ethnic backgrounds to focus on a single issue, the numerical level of U.S. immigration. We educate opinion leaders, policymakers and the public on immigration legislation, policies and their consequences. We favor reductions in immigration numbers toward traditional levels that would allow present and future generations of Americans to enjoy a stabilizing U.S. population and a high degree of individual liberty, mobility, environmental quality, worker fairness and fiscal responsibility.

Those who need to refer to NumbersUSA with a short, descriptive modifier should call it an “immigration-reduction organization.”
