Rep. Lamar Smith (R-Texas) is the lead sponsor of the Legal Workforce Act, which would expand use of E-Verify for all employers. The bill was first introduced during the 112th Session of Congress where it passed through the House Judiciary Committee. Rep. Smith was joined by 12 cosponsors of the legislation.
Senator Jeff Sessions (R-Ala.) took to the Senate floor before the vote on the DHS funding bill that would block funds for President Obama's executive amnesty.
Speaker John Boehner (R-Ohio) spoke from the House Floor on President Obama's unconstitutional executive amnesties.
"What we are dealing with here is a president who has ignored the people, ignored the Constitution, and even his own past statements," he said.
"In fact, on at least 22 occasions he has said he does not have the authority to do what he did."
Speaker Boehner then read them.
