A Rasmussen poll released on September 7 shows that 83% of Americans favor requiring those who apply for government-sponsored, tax-payer funded health care subsidies to prove that they are U.S. citizens. A similar poll conducted in June showed that 80% of Americans were in favor of requiring proof of citizenship.
The poll also concluded that this is very much a non-partisan issue: 95% of Republicans and 70% of Democrats hold this view. 90% of self-described conservatives and moderates and 56% of liberals support citizenship requirements for taxpayer-funded health care subsidies.
