Park City Daily News -- John David Dyche

Have you ever wondered why roofing crews seem to be comprised entirely of non-English-speaking immigrants while U.S. welfare rolls bulge, unemployment among young African-American men rages and the labor force participation rate for men aged 25 to 54 is at an all-time low? U.S. Sen. Jeff Sessions of Alabama apparently has.

Associated Press -- Amy Taxin

The Mexican government on Thursday will start issuing birth certificates to its citizens at consulates in the United States, seeking to make it easier for them to apply for U.S. work permits, driver's licenses and protection from deportation.

Until now, Mexico has required citizens to get birth certificates at government offices in Mexico. Many of those living in the U.S. ask friends and relatives back home to retrieve them, which can delay their applications for immigration or other programs.

Associated Press -- Erica Werner

In an assault on one of President Barack Obama's top domestic priorities, House Republicans approved measures Wednesday that would overturn his immigration actions and remove protections for immigrants brought illegally to the country as children.

Despite a White House veto threat, Republicans attached language blocking Obama's immigration initiatives to legislation providing nearly $40 billion to finance the Homeland Security Department through the rest of the budget year.

NumbersUSA Education & Research Foundation provides a civil forum for Americans of all political and ethnic backgrounds to focus on a single issue, the numerical level of U.S. immigration. We educate opinion leaders, policymakers and the public on immigration legislation, policies and their consequences. We favor reductions in immigration numbers toward traditional levels that would allow present and future generations of Americans to enjoy a stabilizing U.S. population and a high degree of individual liberty, mobility, environmental quality, worker fairness and fiscal responsibility.

Those who need to refer to NumbersUSA with a short, descriptive modifier should call it an “immigration-reduction organization.”
