An immigration policy that stops stealing wealth from Black Americans would also lessen the destruction of habitat that deprives our own ecosystems of the keystone species that keep them (and us) healthy.

Future demand for housing is driven almost entirely by immigration. Record housing starts haven't been a balm for affordability. Is there also evidence that immigration-fueled housing prices are driving inflation, even as many elites fret about rising wages? Well, yes.

Another Department of Homeland Security (DHS) catch and release policy bites the dust. Florida Judge T. Kent Wetherell II reviewed the DHS “Parole + Alternatives to Detention (ATD)” policy in a fiery opinion. As the judge observes, this is completely counter to the law and a direct cause of the border crisis the country is currently enduring.

Congress has left immigration-driven population growth on auto-pilot, and American motorists are losing over a year of our lives to increased traffic and congestion. The U.S. has been adding 2-3 million people per year. Commutes aren't getting any easier, making immigration policy a basic quality-of-life issue.

Maybe you thought indentured servitude and forced labor were only found in the agricultural sector of our immigration system, but now we have a nurse filing a lawsuit and seeking a class action certification against her employer. This employer is Health Care Facility Management which does business as CommuniCare Family of Companies.

Texas, Florida, Colorado, and Arizona were overwhelmed last year and started to bus migrants to Washington D.C. and New York. New York declared a state of emergency and is busing migrants to destinations further north, aggravating international relations.

The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) takes a lot of the heat for the crumbling border and the chaos it causes in our communities for good reason. The Republicans in the House of Representatives are talking seriously about impeaching Secretary Mayorkas for his total abdication of responsibility to enforce our immigration laws and for endangering the public he’s sworn to protect. But a shocking (if you have not been reading this blog) New York Times investigation should put Secretary of Health and Human Services (HHS) Xavier Beccera squarely in the crosshairs of House oversight efforts.

To continue on the projected path of immigration-driven demand on a dwindling, life-giving resource would be...something less than wise. Between overstays and gottaways, we have a million additional people looking for illegal employment opportunities every year. An obvious first step toward establishing a credible, fair, and sustainable immigration policy would be for the House to pass the bi-partisan Legal Workforce Act (H.R. 319).

NumbersUSA Education & Research Foundation provides a civil forum for Americans of all political and ethnic backgrounds to focus on a single issue, the numerical level of U.S. immigration. We educate opinion leaders, policymakers and the public on immigration legislation, policies and their consequences. We favor reductions in immigration numbers toward traditional levels that would allow present and future generations of Americans to enjoy a stabilizing U.S. population and a high degree of individual liberty, mobility, environmental quality, worker fairness and fiscal responsibility.

Those who need to refer to NumbersUSA with a short, descriptive modifier should call it an “immigration-reduction organization.”
