Howard County, Maryland is growing fast, and immigration is part of the reasons why. This is leading to the overcrowding of public schools in the county, leading to a redistricting plan unpopular with many residents there.

On Wednesday night, MSNBC hosted a debate for the 2020 Democratic Presidential Primary candidates. Only one very poorly framed question related to immigration was asked the entire evening. It wasn't for lack of time, since there were no immigration questions asked in the three-hour marathon debate the previous month. It's almost as if the candidates, and the networks hosting the debates, don't want to talk about it.

The crises in California are a long way from over, and the problems will be more difficult to solve as the state's population, now at 40 million, continues to grow. Wildfires, water shortages, and planned power outages are just the tip of the iceberg if population is not part of the discussion to fix and enforce U.S. immigration policies.

It is hard to distinguish oneself among so many Presidential aspirants when everybody is rushing in the same direction. Beto O'Rourke tried but couldn't attract enough funding, dropping out of the race today.

Beto tried to beat his competition by advocating for the most leniency toward illegal immigration and for the most foreign workers to help business owners. (Take a look at his positions below.)

But Elizabeth Warren matched his nearly open-borders enthusiasm, and most of the rest of the candidates came very close.

A New York Times report has sparked a national discussion about traffic emissions. To be effective, concerned parties must pay attention to both individual consumption and the number of individual consumers. Inevitably, that will mean challenging Congress' immigration policies.

The average American's commute has grown to almost an half hour and we now spend nine days a years driving to work. Population growth and poor planning are the causes. The solution offered up by most "experts" is MORE of the same.

State Dept. Made the Right Call on FY2020 Refugee Admissions

The State Department last week released its ceiling of 18,000 for refugee admissions for FY2020. While refugee resettlement organizations criticized this number, down from 30,000 from the previous year, the Trump Administration showed that it is prioritizing the interests of the American people by setting a manageable limit on refugee admissions, and recognizing that it must first deal with the ongoing crisis at the U.S.-Mexico border.

To acknowledge the elephant in the room, mainstream media will have to venture outside its comfort zone on immigration. The destruction of ecosystems often occurs around heavily populated cities and is closely related to the increase in the number of Americans.

Fewer flocks and feathers grace our skies, forests, coasts, grasslands, and deserts these days. That's not just a coincidence. As human population increases and millions of acres of natural lands and habitats are permanently altered or lost to development, the survival of our avian neighbors is threatened.

NumbersUSA Education & Research Foundation provides a civil forum for Americans of all political and ethnic backgrounds to focus on a single issue, the numerical level of U.S. immigration. We educate opinion leaders, policymakers and the public on immigration legislation, policies and their consequences. We favor reductions in immigration numbers toward traditional levels that would allow present and future generations of Americans to enjoy a stabilizing U.S. population and a high degree of individual liberty, mobility, environmental quality, worker fairness and fiscal responsibility.

Those who need to refer to NumbersUSA with a short, descriptive modifier should call it an “immigration-reduction organization.”
