But the AP resolved to force it into the tired narrative that any immigration limit harms us - even ones on programs that are bad for all but the most advantaged and unscrupulous.

Now that we are entering another presidential election cycle, the unfortunate recycling of dubious narratives is also beginning anew. The latest example is the Lazarushian claim that George W. Bush received 44% of the Hispanic vote in the 2004 election.

America has a population growth policy. Immigration laws are responsible for between 88% and 95% of U.S. population growth. America has a housing appreciation policy. Population growth results in higher housing costs. There's nothing more fundamental than housing, and every single American has a stake in this.

The Washington Post "fact-checkers" have a new tool as their disposal: "The Bottomless Pinnochio." This is for politicians who engage in "campaigns of disinformation." Glenn Kesller described how they will be awarded, and gives a statement of President Trump's that meets the test. Kesller's explanation shows what's wrong when journalists use "fact-checking" as a way to avoid substantive, and truthful, reporting.

NumbersUSA Education & Research Foundation provides a civil forum for Americans of all political and ethnic backgrounds to focus on a single issue, the numerical level of U.S. immigration. We educate opinion leaders, policymakers and the public on immigration legislation, policies and their consequences. We favor reductions in immigration numbers toward traditional levels that would allow present and future generations of Americans to enjoy a stabilizing U.S. population and a high degree of individual liberty, mobility, environmental quality, worker fairness and fiscal responsibility.

Those who need to refer to NumbersUSA with a short, descriptive modifier should call it an “immigration-reduction organization.”
