Federal Judge Rules DACA is Illegal; Orders Biden Admin. to Stop Processing Applications

Federal Judge Andrew Hanen ruled on Friday that the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) amnesty program is illegal and ordered the Biden Administration to immediately stop processing new applications. For now, the ruling does not revoke the status of the approximately 616,000 illegal aliens who are protected from deportation and have work permits under the amnesty.

U.​S. Customs and Border Protection announced today that they ​had over 188,000 illegal alien ​encounters at the southern border through the month of June alone. CBP noted in a press release that agents encountered 123,838 unique aliens in June, meaning tens of thousands of aliens continue to make multiple attempts to illegally cross the southern border.

Joe Biden ran a successful campaign on restoring normalcy, and with one notable exception, his approval numbers indicate that voters are generally satisfied with the early returns. Yet six months into his presidency, and after a record number of executive changes to the immigration system, it's the border policies of the previous administration that voters want to see restored.

President Biden and voters appear to have very different ideas about what "normalcy" should look like at the border.

Rep Jody Hice Re-introduces Legislation to End Chain Migration

Rep. Jody Hice (R-Ga.) has re-introduced legislation that would end Chain Migration. H.R. 4050, the Nuclear Family Priority Act, is one of NumbersUSA's 5 Great Immigration Solutions and would reform the family-based preference categories to focus solely on spouses and minor children of new immigrants, reducing overall legal immigration by at least 300,000 per year.

We favor reductions in immigration numbers toward traditional levels that would allow present and future generations of Americans to enjoy a stabilizing U.S. population and a high degree of individual liberty, mobility, environmental quality, worker fairness and fiscal responsibility.

Those who need to refer to NumbersUSA with a short, descriptive modifier should call it an “immigration-reduction organization.”
