NumbersUSA: House border security bill weakens current law

NumbersUSA In the News Reviews - Friday, October 25, 2013

A one-page memo produced this week by the limited immigration group NumbersUSA argues that the House’s border security bill actually weakens current law and could act as a shield to allow Republicans to vote for “amnesty.”

In the document NumbersUSA compares provisions in the House’s border bill with provisions in the Secure Fence Act of 2006 and the 2004 Intelligence Reform and Terrorism.

South Carolina Rep. Gowdy Named Immigration Subcommittee Chair

NumbersUSA In the News Reviews - Wednesday, December 19, 2012

Numbers USA, a group that wants to lower immigration levels, awarded Gowdy an A- grade, in part for working to reduce the diversity visa lottery and what they call "amnesty entitlements."

According to the group, "Amnesties go farther than most incentives for illegal immigration because they make it impossible for illegal aliens to be forced to go back home. Amnesties reward the illegal alien with the pathway to U.S. citizenship. Millions of illegal aliens have been made part of the permanent, legal population of America since 1986."

NumbersUSA also emphasized on its site that Kris Kobach, the Republican Kansas secretary of state who worked on Arizona's controversial immigration law and is an informal adviser to presumed Republican presidential nominee Mitt Romney, is representing the suing agents.
