President of the union that represents the nation's 7,000 Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents, Chris Crane, sent a letter to CEOs of the companies that are actively pushing a comprehensive immigration reform bill that would grant amnesty to 11-18 million illegal aliens. In the letter, Crane challenged the business executives as to why they would support a bill that would jeopardize public safety and requested a meeting. About a dozen CEOs met with Pres. Obama at the White House on Tuesday.

Here is the text of the letter:

Dear Sirs and Madams:

I write to you today in my capacity as the President of the National Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) Council, representing approximately 7,000 ICE agents, officers and staff. I am also an ICE officer myself.

Each of you receiving this letter today has played a major role in pushing so-called "comprehensive immigration reform," the Rubio-Schumer immigration bill or is pressing the House to advance similar legislation.

During recent years, ICE officers have documented extraordinary political abuses at the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) and ICE that have threatened public safety and undermined the ability of ICE agents and officers to enforce the laws enacted by Congress. I cannot recall any of you speaking out publicly against these abuses or requesting a meeting with ICE Officers to address our concerns.

ICE officers arguably know more about our nation's broken immigration system than any group in the United States. Yet President Barack Obama and the Gang of Eight actively prohibited them from having input. Only influential and affluent groups and wealthy individuals like you were given an opportunity to provide real input on our nation's new immigration laws. As ICE officers fought a very public battle seeking to add measures that would provide for public safety and national security, you did nothing to assist or support us, but in fact--through your advocacy -- put officers and the public at risk.

As a result, the Senate passed an immigration bill that will fail America. While this legislation may satisfy your personal financial or political objectives, it undermines immigration enforcement and worsens the immigration problems currently experienced in the United States.

As you fight for special protections and legalization for violent criminal offenders and gang members illegally in the United States, certainly you must realize that in doing so you sacrifice the safety of every man, woman and child residing in the United States, regardless of citizenship. Certainly you must know that when you fight for legislation that protects criminal aliens who assault law enforcement officers, you increase the risk to every police officer, sheriff's deputy, and federal agent across our nation; officers whose lives and welfare should hold some value to you and the organizations you represent.

Only the U.S. House of Representatives now stands between the American people and the potential destruction of federal immigration enforcement. Yet the groups represented on this letter are spending enormous sums of money or wielding enormous amounts of influence in an attempt to intimidate the House into passing a plan similar to that adopted by the Senate -- a bill that not one member of the Senate had the time to read before voting on.

It is a sad day in America when the political class in Washington, and groups that can deliver votes and money, have more influence in writing our immigration laws than everyday American citizens and the law enforcement officers sworn to protect them. I hope you stand with law enforcement and stand for the rule of law - if for no other reason than out of compassion for the lives that we can protect if we finally begin to enforce our nation's immigration laws.

Are you really willing to support an immigration plan that will put officers and the public in danger simply because it includes special items that advance the financial or political interests of your group or company? Are we in law enforcement not worthy of your respect? Do you believe that our experience and advice is without value in creating new immigration legislation? I am requesting a meeting with each of you to discuss the answers to these questions, as well as to speak to you about the field experience of immigration officers and agents who daily witness a side of our nation's immigration crisis that many in the media and indeed our government actively work to conceal from the American public.

For more information on the President's meeting on Tuesday, see this blog.

The term 'cannon fodder' comes to mind. Peace Officers and civilians who end up as victims (physically, socially, economically) to illegal aliens are casually written off as the price of war. Just keep the collateral damage minimized and well hid so the natives don't become too restless.

Makes one begin to wonder when big money can get so important that Washington will even "sell out" our military forces. This should have been stopped in 1986, now it MUST be stopped, immediatley, and for once and forever!

America generates only 2 million jobs per year, and she has about 11 million unemployed and about 14 million underemployed or 'not counted'. Immigration destroys American jobs. Keep up the fight. No amnesty. Reduce immigration. We need all of our jobs created to go to Americans.

Chris Crane is a true patriot. Unfortunately, many uniformed public servants these days (police and military) have made career advancement their number one priority, going as far as to snub their very mission of protecting the public as well as step on their fellow team members. I wish we had more police and military leaders like Chris Crane.

Dear NumbersUSA: Let's please do a fax and call campaign against these companies. Will you please post a list of company CEOs? Thanks.

What we all can easily do, and should be doing if you aren't already, is boycott the greedy weasels. Please don't buy unless you absolutely have to- that will probably get their attention more than anything else, especially if you can let them know what you 're doing and why.

I went to that link and found only a portion of the letter Crane sent and nothing else.

What is more important to a cheap-labor CEO - lower wages and higher profits or American jobs and the rule of law? I doubt that the CEOs will agree to meet with him, but it's encouraging that at least one labor leader is making an issue of this.

I love this protest by the ICE UNION! Sends these traitors a strong message! I just saw on the news that the Kellogg's cereal company is losing buyers of their product. I never thought I would see that happen to such a popular brand of cereal? This would be nice to see happen to all the corporations trying to destroy the United States with this outrageous amnesty! This amnesty will destroy the safety and well-being of American citizens throughout the United States! These Corporations could care less!

Very good letter by Mr. Crane. The problem is: trying to get through to these traitors is like talking to a wall. These politicians and C.E.O.'s are selling the American workers out for cheap-labor and to further their own corrupt "political-careers." They are proving by their very actions that they have no respect for our laws or for American workers. Remember their treachery next time they want your vote. I will!

I'll never eat at Cheesecake Factory again. I looked at the list of restaurants lobbying for more cheap foreign labor. They're all places we don't go because the food is corporate garbage.

I am hearing that many hospitals are laying off nurses. Why would this be happening if the number of people that are insured are expected to rise? Are the hospitals planning on getting on the "hire foreign" bandwagon when (they presume) S 744 passes? Get rid of well paid nurses and bring in new nurses for lower ages! It would have to be good for the bottom line if they can pull it off!

Ralph, the medical community already brings so many Third World medical workers into the U. S. it's scary. When you think that these people aren't trained at First World standards and that's who'll be taking care of you, it's terrifying. I don't even go to the doctor anymore. I follow Dr. Weil's natural treatments.

Hospitals have been hiring foreign nurses for years. The AHA has been crying "shortage" forever and they get their visas. Many say it is a manufactured "shortage." The Philippines educate nurses en-mass specifically to come here and work. It is not easy to get a job in a hospital now. I know this for fact.

Find out what products and services that they manufacture and boycott these. Spread the word to other Americans. When 90% of Americans simultaneously and permanently boycott their prods and services they will suddenly have the urge to listen! Listen get busy with this, America!

Veterans Day thought. Erase the border that American soldiers died to maintain and there is no longer an America. Limit immigration to those with skills and ambitions that can keep America strong and keep out those who, unable to make their homeland a decent place to live, come here to leech off the wealth of America.

If only the 'average American Citizen' knew who these self serving Corporatists are, perhaps we could help focus attention on these corporations, businesses and industries, and help consumers , investors, and America's citizens, workers, students, taxpayers, and voters recognize which Companies are using their profits to advance a pro-illegal agenda, and undermine the social, economic and environmental interests of our nation. What could be more patriotic, more American than exposing those who would zealously undermine and usurp the will of their fellow American's purely out of greed ? Why hasn't anyone in the responsible media made the identities of these self serving Corporations and Businesses and Industries public?

The bottom line in all this is that U. S. companies just want cheap labor. They don't care if no American can afford to buy their stuff because they have the "global market." If they could just import cheap foreign labor into this country, they'd save even more money because they don't have to relocate to stop paying workers a fair living wage.

William 6954 of CA's picture
And they don't care about the damage is does to America, already over-populated. Population increase contributes to: greater congestion, paving over more valuable farm land, greater demand on dwindling water supply, more toxic emissions and negative effect on sustainability. America is already far from being a sustainable society but it is stupid to make it worse which means succeeding generations will suffer steadily declining quality of life.

Well written and we should support our law enforcement officers and listen to their concerns. It is also their lives that are at stake! As well as our own lives! Don't let the politicans and big money run over the House!

This "immigration reform" bill would greatly increase the number of immigrants to the USA when we are in a prolonged slow growth period in our economy. This makes no sense! Put the interests of the American worker and taxpayer first, y'all.

I would really like to know the details of the extraordinary political abuses he refers to. I won't spend my money at any local company that hires illegals. I ASK, do you have any in your employ? Do you use E-Verify? If you don't how do you know they are legal? I'll take my business elsewhere! And why is the Chamber of Commerce trying to influence the vote? I want their phone number and email so I can ask them directly! I want to know all the companies who are supporting this. I don't Google anymore, I Bing. Anyone who uses Facebook is giving up your any privacy for all your internet use! I want to know who else if trying to stuff this down the American citizens throat! I want their emails so I can write and let them know exactly how I feel about that!

Isn't it ironic that numbers.usa is supporting Google...which is one of the corporate sugar daddies for amnesty...by having that 'chrome' banner at the top of the page?

Terri 9170 of IL's picture
I belong to Facebook even though Mark Zuckerberg is spending millions on amnesty because it's the place where I can keep in touch with my family. This is exactly why we need a government working for citizens and regulating big companies and enforcing our laws. The corporations are so huge and overreaching it's not possible to avoid them all together. We need a government that protects American citizens and regulates corporations.

The same corporations who are screaming for lower tax rates are pushing for more low income workers and more burden on the taxpayers. I say tax them to pay for the extra burdens.

If they have documented political abuses, (and I'm sure they do), they should present it and make these traitors face justice for their treachery. Secure the border, send these corrupt and treasonous politicians AND corporate big-shots to prison for treason. Deport ALL, (not some), ALL demanding, disrespectful, illegal-aliens.
