Arizona's employer sanctions law appears to be having a positive effect on the state's illegal immigration crisis. It is becoming clear that Arizona's law is forcing illegal workers to leave the state.

The Mexican consul general in Phoenix, Carlos Florez Vizcarra, has seen a five-fold increase in the number of Mexican nationals seeking birth certificats for their American-born children. Frank Pierson, lead organizer of the Arizona Interfaith Network, said a variety of factors (with Arizona's tough new sanctions law the principal factor) are creating "a disincentive [for illegal aliens] to stay in the state."
