While Friday's jobs report was encouraging, 190,000 jobs added in the month of July, the data also showed some discouraging news - only 47% of Americans hold a full-time job. Of the 144 million Americans that hold a job, only 116 million are working full-time and only 58.7% of American adults hold a job.

The data also showed that the number of Americans who want a full-time job, but are forced to work a part-time job, increased by 352,000 to more than 8 million Americans. Combine that with the nearly 12 million Americans who can't any job, and the number of Americans looking for full-time work remains above 20 million.
