A federal judge has delayed the trial of four former managers of the Postville, Iowa Agriprocessors plant. The four managers are on trial for knowingly hiring illegal workers and providing the illegal aliens with fraudulent documents. Former plant manager Sholom Rubashkin has asked for the trial's location to be changed and has asked for all 163 counts against him to be dropped due to "abuses of the grand jury process."
ICE's May, 2008 enforcement action netted 390 arrests and was largest action ever undertaken by ICE (it has since been eclipsed by ICE's August, 2008 action in Laurel, Mississippi which netted over 600 arrests.
