Immigration Bills

H.R. 4044, the Rapid Response Border Protection Act, would increase border patrol efforts by providing for additional border patrol agents, additional border patrol equipment and training facilities, incentives for careers in the Border Patrol, and deployment of border patrol agents to states where a border security state of emergency has been declared. It would also increase interior enforcement by providing for additional immigration inspectors, additional immigration enforcement agents, and additional detention beds.

The bill would urge the President and the Secretary of Homeland Security to secure our borders and enforce our immigration laws.

Expressing the sense of the Congress that the President should immediately and unequivocally call for the enforcement of existing immigration laws in order to reduce the threat of a terrorist attack and to reduce the massive influx of illegal aliens into the United States.

H.R. 1986 would authorize the Secretary of Defense to assign members of the military to assist in border control efforts.

H.R. 1438, the No Social Security for Illegal Immigrants Act, would prohibit work performed while an alien is unlawfully present in this country to count toward qualifying for Social Security benefits.

S. 455, the ACTION Act, would expedite and expand the processing of student visas, loosening some of the requirements for background checks and thus making it easier for foreign students to enter the country legally and remain in the country illegally.
