Surveys of Independent Businesses

The National Federation of Independent Businesses is the nation's largest organization of business owners. It represents privately owned businesses, which account for the vast majority of all businesses in the United States. The NFIB routinely surveys its members about public issues. The following findings on immigration come from those surveys.

Should employer sanctions and penalties for hiring illegal aliens be repealed? (1996)

  • Yes: 26%
  • No: 62%
