The problem of our current government being bought off by high dollar companies like Microsoft is only half the problem. The other half is our current educational system that brain washes our youth. The young Americans in our work force are brain washed to believe it is a sin to think or speak negatively (a sin in the New Age/Self-esteem religion). To them it would be negative to think the foreigners shouldn't come here, therefore "we" must come up with a positive way to think of the issue.

Foreign workers take jobs away from skilled Americans

This was in practice at John Deere, and one of the reason's i retired early in 1999. It got to a point where they were bringing in east Indian's through outside companies, and we had to train them, because they had little or no knowledge of IBM host operating systems, software, or IMS data base management systems, which Deere was using to run their core business at the time, and probably still do.

I have been in the high tech (IT) industry for over 30 years and have seen a trend in contract consulting designed to grab the H1 candidates in favor of the US worker. The contract comes with what looks like a decent rate but is 'all inclusive' meaning you pay all of your own expenses - travel, food, hotel, etc. From experience the is around $1000/week ($25/hr) assuming you travel home each week. For those of us with homes and families, the position is not feasible and therefore must be turned down. The H-1 Candidate, who is usually sans family or roots, can pick up and essentially move to the other city lock, stock and barrel. They usually keep a legal address at a friend's apartment in another city so they can claim a large portion of the rate as tax free 'per diem'.

The last thing we need is an expansion of this system.

This is not new news. My husband and I both work in the high tech industry and have been affected by the hiring of foreign workers. He was let go from Sun Microsystems in 2001 in their first round of layoffs. At that time, his job responsibilities were split between an L-1 visa and 3 H1-B visa personnel. It wasn’t until all the Americans possible were let go from Sun that they started laying off foreign workers.

When my husband finally got another job it was for 25% LESS than his previous salary. The salaries for high tech workers are finally starting to rebound. Last year my husband switched jobs and is now making only 7% LESS than he was in 2001.

Also, in 2001 my husband prepared a legal brief with Norm Matloff outlining how the Human Resources department at Sun Microsystems instructed him to place his requisition for a new Java programmer face down on a bulletin board in a remote area so the chances of an American worker seeing it were pretty small. That allowed them to say they had posted the job but no one applied. They hired a foreign worker, they didn’t have a choice.

SO, when do "WE THE PEOPLE" plan to physically throw our current Federal Government out, and establish a new one? A sorta high level 'Do-Over', like in Golf.

I'm in my mid-sixties, and I still have NO idea why we have, nor why we allow, "Special Interest Groups", and "Lobbist", to have any part in our elected politicians dealings. Our so called, elected Politicians hang on every word, and dollar, that these worthless groups, utter and handout, yet seem to NOT even notice that "WE THE PEOPLE" exist. Someone should get out the ole 'guillotine', oil it up, and park it in front of the Congress. Then do as the French did, centurys ago, when they finally had had enough of their corrupt, worthless, unpatriotic Government, and put it to good use. Maybe then the elected Government would finally get the message, and listen to "WE THE PEOPLE", and run off all of the worthless 'rif-raf', known as Blood Sucking 'crap', but reffered to as "Special Interest Groups", and "Lobbist".

I think America is more than completely feedup with the way they've been, and are being, treated. If only America's Citizens would turn off "American Idol", ballgames, and soap operas, they'd see that they're being put out of business, because of their lack of interest in the people that they hired, to do the business of "WE THE PEOPLE". We've become a pathetic bunch! Uninterested in our futures, and our childrens futures, are in our Governments treatment of "WE THE PEOPLE".

If we choose NOT to particpate and to NOT vote, and if we don't let our voices be heard, 'THEN we deserve the government we get!'
And trust me Brothers and Sisters,..., "WE" DON'T got much of a Government anymore,..., these days.

This country is on the verge of a civil war and I do mean that in the literal sense. Our Constitution grants us the right to abolish the government in place when that government no longer supports that same Constitution.

I am no Constitution law guru but I do know that treason of country can be classified as an coordinated effort to undermine the American freedoms and values.

By our Senators, Congressmen, Representatives, President and Vice-presidents giving credence to lobbyists over the vox populi, then those that enact change based on the needs of the business lobbyist are acting as spokesmen for the Benedict Arnolds in our mist.

Civil war is in our sight and that time will draw nearer and nearer as we hear stories of the high priced planned obsolescence of the American worker.
