<description>NumbersUSA is mobilizing our 920,000 members to contact their Representatives to urge defeat of the Rule to bring H.R. 3962 to the House floor.
NumbersUSA takes no position on the non-immigration parts of the bill.  But Speaker Pelosi and the Rules Committee have &lt;a href=&quot;/content/news/november-5-2009/cbo-says-new-health-care-bill-would-cover-25-million-more-illegal-aliens.html&quot; target=&quot;_blank&quot;&gt;broken the promises&lt;/a&gt; that Pres.</description>

<title>House Rules Comm. Caving to Hispanic Caucus -- Illegals Allowed in Healthcare Plan</title>
 <link>http://www.numbersusa.com/content/nusablog/beckr/november-5-2009/house-rules-comm-caving-hispanic-caucus-illegals-allowed-healthcare-p</link>
<description>The Associated Press has just reported that, after the Hispanic Caucus confronted Pres. Obama at the White House this afternoon, the chair of the House Rules Committee indicated she is giving the Caucus what it wants: She indicated that the House will have to vote on a bill that allows illegal aliens to use the new health care &quot;exchange&quot; and that does not require verification to keep illegal aliens out of the other parts of the proposed new federal health care system.

 <title>Pleasing Hispanic Caucus or Being a Liar (Obama&#039;s healthcare/immigration tough choice?)</title>
 <link>http://www.numbersusa.com/content/nusablog/beckr/november-5-2009/pleasing-hispanic-caucus-or-being-liar-obamas-healthcareimmigration-t</link>
<description>Pres. Obama has scheduled a meeting with the Congressional Hispanic Caucus for this (Thursday) afternoon, presumably to smooth the growing acrimony between the two parties over whether Obama should keep his promise to guarantee that illegal aliens won&#039;t be part of any new federal health care plan.

<title>In Terms of H-1B, Can Tech Industry be Divided into Good Guy/BadGuy?</title>
 <link>http://www.numbersusa.com/content/nusablog/nmatloff/november-4-2009/terms-h-1b-can-tech-industry-be-divided-good-guybadguy.html</link>
<description>Last Monday there was an interesting discussion of H-1B and related issues on KALW, an NPR affiliate run by the San Francisco Unified School District. Some of you may recall that back in April I was a guest on the main NPR affiliate in San Francisco, KQED.

<title>White House Claims &#039;Stimulus&#039; Saved/Created 650,000 Jobs (but it imported 1,125,000 foreign workers at same time) </title>
 <link>http://www.numbersusa.com/content/nusablog/beckr/october-30-2009/white-house-claims-stimulus-savedcreated-650000-jobs-it-imported-1125</link>
<description>A few minutes ago, the White House issued a new report claiming that the Stimulus Bill earlier this year has created or saved approximately 650,000 U.S. jobs. All of us need to point out to every local newspaper, every Member of Congress and every one of our co-workers and family that the federal government has imported more than a million working-age foreign citizens this year to negate every positive impact the stimulus could have had for U.S. workers.

<title>Immigration Enforcement DOES Belong in Senate Floor Debate About Unemployment Payments</title>
 <link>http://www.numbersusa.com/content/nusablog/beckr/october-27-2009/immigration-enforcement-does-belong-senate-floor-debate-about-unemplo</link>
<description>Sen. Durbin (D-Ill.) uses his leadership position continually to make false claims about E-Verify&#039;s reliability and to project the absolutely foolish notion that unemployment and immigration have no relationship. But while he laments the 125,000 who have recently lost their unemployment benefits (I do, too), he ignores the fact that HIS immigration policies now in place have given out 125,000 brand new work permits to foreign workers during the last month.

<title>Profoundly Wrong: &#039;We Were Strangers, Too: the Jewish Campaign for Immigration Reform&#039;</title>
 <link>http://www.numbersusa.com/content/nusablog/cbreiter2/october-26-2009/profoundly-wrong-we-were-strangers-too-jewish-campaign-immigratio</link>
<description>Major Jewish groups have started a campaign saying we should welcome the illegally present because we were strangers in the land of Egypt. But Exodus is very clear that the Jews went to Egypt at the specific direction of the Pharaoh. That means they entered and settled in the country legally. The Jews went to Egypt because there a severe famine in Canaan and all the surrounding lands. There is no such situation in the countries that are sending us large numbers of illegal aliens.

<title>Fresh Journalist Look at Border Finds Fence Is Savior of Ecosystems (while still posing some environmental challenges)</title>
 <link>http://www.numbersusa.com/content/nusablog/beckr/october-25-2009/fresh-journalist-look-border-finds-fence-savior-ecosystems-while-stil</link>
<description>Veteran journalist Stephen Dinan this weekend published the most informative and balanced report to date on the environmental issues at stake along the border. While most environmental groups fight the building of fences along the Mexican border, Dinan found caretakers of the environment down there who said the building of a fence has allowed the desert to sprout back to life.

 <title>Americans Moving in Our Direction</title>
 <link>http://www.numbersusa.com/content/nusablog/cchmielenski/october-22-2009/americans-moving-our-direction.html</link>
<description>Two new polls reveal that Americans favor lower immigration numbers, stronger border and interior enforcement, and oppose giving amnesty to the 12-18 million illegal aliens currently living in the United States. While Sen. Chuck Schumer (D-NY) works on a “comprehensive immigration reform” bill that would provide a mass amnesty to illegal aliens and increase America’s overly generous immigration numbers, Americans want a very different solution.
