House Members Push for Verification (new)

Seven House Members held a press conference earlier today on the East Lawn of the Capitol Building showing their support for stronger verification in the health care reform bill. NumbersUSA's Director of Government Relations Rosemary Jenks also spoke with the House Members.

The House is currently debating the health care bill (H.R. 3962). Tighter restrictions on illegal-alien access to the new health care system were not included in the bill.

Obama made that illegal aliens would be excluded from any part of a new federal health care plan. 

Jobless Rate Hits 10.2%

The unemployment rate rose to its highest level since 1983, with 10.2% of Americans out of work in October. About 190,000 jobs were cut during the month, while the federal government imported 125,000 foreign workers over the same period of time.

House Rules Comm. Caving to Hispanic Caucus -- Illegals Allowed in Healthcare Plan

The Associated Press has just reported that, after the Hispanic Caucus confronted Pres. Obama at the White House this afternoon, the chair of the House Rules Committee indicated she is giving the Caucus what it wants: She indicated that the House will have to vote on a bill that allows illegal aliens to use the new health care "exchange" and that does not require verification to keep illegal aliens out of the other parts of the proposed new federal health care system.

The non-partisan Congressional Budget Office says the new health care reform bill (H.R.3962) in the House revealed by House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) last week covers 2.5 million more illegal aliens than the House's original proposal (H.R.3200).
